then it's a 100 yards on Castle Road, 100 yards on Skipton old Road (both busier roads), past this old smithy and onto the quieter Hill Lane

above the smithy door, the date 1702, two horseshoes and two tools of the trade *

from the ford, it's climbing hills again, but not too steep, here going up Hill Lane

Then a 30mph ride down Emmott Lane to Laneshaw Bridge village where the main Colne-Keighley road is crossed
