7 years to the day from the 2 million march against the invasion of Iraq, we're out in force again but not marching, blockading, using direct action to shut Aldermaston down. All the gates got closed, many for hours, roads were blocked and the work of Britain's nuclear death factory was severely disrupted

I stayed the night before at a medieval church hall in Basingstoke with the Cyclists and the Scots. We set off at 6am but because of my snail-like pace I told the rest of the cyclists to go ahead to get to their gate, the North Gate. So when I finally got to Aldermaston, I was miles behind so I thought I'd look at the other gates first, here approaching the Tadley Gate

A variety of affiity groups took responsibility for different gates, there being a total 9 gates to Aldermaston Weapons Establishment (AWE). Tadley Gate was primarily for faith groups. Here a variety of candles & symbols on the ground representing different faiths

a minimum Bockade at the Falcon Gate as AWE seenm very reluctant to use this gate - but if they did, it would soon be fully blocked. Falcon Gate was the Students Gate.
