I'm very involved with the campaign to re-open the Colne to Skipton Railway, just an 11 mile missing link. To make the point we ran a 'Missing Link' special train the long way round in April and today we did the full circle: Colne - Burnley - Blackburn - Settle Junction - Skipton - Leeds - Bradford - Halifax -Burnley - Colne. 150 miles for what will be, when we get our railway back, a 22 mile return journey, 15 minutes each way instead of 2 hours.

Apart from April 1st when we ran our first special, Colne never sees such crowds on its very basic station, a far cry from its heyday. *
