Rather than a long day trip to London for the Mothers March and then another for the TUC cuts demonstration a fortnight later, I decided to stay down south and have a circular cycle tour (with some bits on trains) from London to London via Oxfordshire, South Wales, Bristol, Dorset, Hampshire and Sussex.

on my tour I was fortunate to find kind people to put me up each night, some old friends and some new ones. So no impersonal hotel, instead pleasant company and lots of chatting.
So after the Mothers March it was train to Oxford and then a cycle to Stanford in the Vale where John and Pat from Peace News Summer Camp were most hospitable. I was really touched by this mug of water Pat put in my bedroom with 'Hello Roy' on one side...
